Vascular anatomical considerations in preparing colonic flaps to replace the oesophagus

چکیده
Abstract Background The colon is among the best options to substitute oesophagus; it well known for its durability and good function that makes most suitable paediatric patients. steps of procedure, postoperative complications, outcome assessment were thoroughly discussed in previous reports. However, this report, we have tried focus on one basic essential step operation, which fashioning colonic flap used oesophagus. Results study included 50 consecutive cases who underwent replacement oesophagus during period 2010 through 2020. indication oesophageal was either atresia (27 cases) or corrosive strictures (23 cases). Our standard technique using a middle segment (transverse colon) based left colic vessels (vascular pedicle) after ligation vessels. Variations encountered single, double, absent In single case (2%), multiple, short, non-branching with interrupted continuity marginal at point. latter situation, had use different by right Conclusion oesophagus, preparing pedicled from transverse almost always feasible owing stable collateral On rare occasion, disturbed anatomy when shift another flap.

Anatomical and Radiological Considerations When Colonic Perforation Leads to Subcutaneous Emphysema, Pneumothoraces, Pneumomediastinum, and Mediastinal Shift
While colonoscopy is generally regarded as a safe procedure, colonic perforation can occur and the risk of this is higher when interventional procedures are undertaken. The presentation may be acute or delayed depending on the extent of the perforation. Extracolonic gas following colonic perforation can migrate to several body compartments that are embryologically related and it has previously ...

Preparing for research: metatheoretical considerations In Chapter 2 a distinction was made between international and comparative librarianship and the scope of these two fields was outlined. In a sense we were running a little ahead of our material, since any such delimitation rests on certain basic assumptions. These assumptions, of which we may or may not be aware, can be broadly labeled meta...
متن کاملVascular Compression of the - Trachea and Oesophagus
In the developing embryo the foregut is surrounded by a group of vascular structures of bilateral distribution connected with the branchial arches. Portions of these arches are obliterated to form the normally described aorta and great vessels. The ultimate persistence of only one main vascular arch, the left, as the aorta, permits the trachea and oesophagus to lie freely to its right side. Whe...
متن کاملVascular anomalies compressing the oesophagus and trachea.
Vascular rings formed by anomalies of major arteries can compress the trachea and oesophagus so much as to cause respiratory distress and dysphagia. Twenty-nine patients with this condition are reviewed and discussed in five groups. The symptoms and signs are noted. Radiological examination by barium swallow is the most useful diagnostic aid. Symptoms can only be relieved by operation. The trac...
